Catherine MacLellan, Old Man Luedecke, Saddle River String Band… Pure vocals, uncompromising songwriting, unwavering energy…an evening of old friends sharing their remarkable talent with each other and with you! Matching pure and ethereal vocals with poetic lyrics and her uncompromising song writing craft, there is no doubt as to why Catherine MacLellan has become one of the most celebrated new singer-songwriters in Canada, and around the world, by her contemporaries and media alike.
Old Man Luedecke, is one of Canada’s best loved and most intriguing roots singer-songwriters. “An original, he is a musical singularity to be savoured and shared”, says the Vancouver Folk Festival. His memorable melodies, poetic sense and easy charisma have propelled him toward national treasure status and we are thrilled to introduce him to our Festival audience.
The future is bright for these seasoned musicians from Western PEI. The Saddle River String Band’s goal is to spread the Saddle gospel to the four corners of Canada and beyond. Mike Dixon, James Phillips, Troy MacArthur and Tommy DesRoches raise the roof each time they bring their outstanding bluegrass music to St. Mary’s!
