Mireille Proulx - Jazz Violinist

Mireille Proulx has delighted festival audiences with her artistry and onstage presence across Canada, the United States and Europe. After hearing the Montreal jazz violinist's first recording, Il y avait des pelicans, music legend Dave Brubeck wrote to her and said: "No telling how much further your talent will take you." Two more CDs and five videos later, her talent has garnered considerable attention. She has succeeded in creating a style that places her in the tradition of jazz-violin greats Stéphane Grapelli and Jean-Luc Ponty as she uses her classical background and compositional skills to create an unmistakable voice on the contemporary jazz scene.$24
